Intervals
Name
of the intervals between two notes are to determine as how many note names are
between this two notes. Name of the intervals between C and E is a third interval. Because its about
three note names called C, D and E. However, there are nine types of intervals
that are named major, minor, perfect, dimnished, augmented, doubly dimnished,
doubly augmented, unison and octave. In harmony, this adjectives is important for
describing name of chords. Ex.9 is show that what kind of intervals have and
how many steps and symbols have.
Intervallic
Inversions
Intervals
can be named upwards to downwards. In this case, names of intervals can be
changed. In that point, number of "nine" helps to check the names. If
an interval is a second, inversion of second is the seventh. Seven plus two is
nine so calculation is okay. If an interval is major, inversion must be minor.
The chart in ex.10 shows all the changes.
